Healthy Chicken Tikka
Succulent chunks of chicken breast marinated in spiced Greek yogurt and grilled to smoky perfection. A high-protein Indian classic made healthy.
Ingredients
3 servings- 1 lbChicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cupPlain nonfat Greek yogurt
- 1 tbspFresh lemon juice
- 1.5 tspGaram masala
- 1 tspGround cumin
- 1 tspPaprika
- 1/2 tspGround turmeric
- 3 clovesGarlic, minced
- 1 tbspFresh ginger, grated
- 1 tspOlive oil
Instructions
Step 1
In a medium bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, garlic, ginger, and olive oil.
Step 2
Add the chicken cubes to the marinade, tossing until well coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (ideally overnight).
Step 3
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
Step 4
Preheat your grill or oven broiler to medium-high. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers.
Step 5
Grill the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred on the edges.
